Is this an offensive thing to say?

Background my sister is quite pushy and entitled. She said to me this evening that some of her friends wanted to pay for her to do something she wants to do. She said she felt guilty mooching off them, but not me, because I don't count. I took offense to this and she said it was just a silly joke, I'm now thinking wtf.

She's probably joking but one would joke back that you have no intention to pay for anything for her until she's learned the art of gratitude.

Well yes it could've been a joke in poor taste, or maybe because you are family she meant that it's not as weirdness to ask you for money but I can see how you'd be upset

It wouldn't have occurred to me to be offended. Do you owe her money or something? If so, I could see it as a pointed comment, I guess. If not, I'd have just seen it as an innocent joke.
