Not AIBU but posting for traffic.....

Does anyone have any idea where I can find a replacement of this PLEASE? I got it from TK Maxx at Easter but my child decided to swing it around and smash it into the radiator. I left the room for 2 sodding minutes....!

What is it?

CupcakeBabaPoo · 09/09/2017 14:26

I did post a picture - is it showing?

It's a glass bauble thing with rope attached to the top of it with 2 butterflies and some flowers in it.

Some sort of bauble.

Pretty bits on a metal base, surrounded by a glass ball and the fancy knot hides the hook which allows the bauble to be hung.

proplapsingallover · 09/09/2017 14:49

What is is for? A light pull?

iver · 09/09/2017 14:51

i thought this was the start of another facebook selling page finds

Blush
CupcakeBabaPoo · 09/09/2017 14:52

No it's just a decoration - basically a bauble with a piece of rope/string attached to it.

I have removed all the glass and am now left with the wooden bottom bit (with the butterfly and flowers on) and the top rope bit. Any creative MNetters have an idea of what to do with it please? Sad

Clearly your child has good taste OP.

Holidaygirlsummer · 09/09/2017 14:55

Email TKMAXX and ask them who made them and if you can have a contact email for them.

Maudlinmaud · 09/09/2017 14:56

Try etsy op. Although I'm not sure what you would search it under. Could you just attach it to a drawer handle or something now?

CupcakeBabaPoo · 09/09/2017 14:56

Oh blimey pigs don't say that Blush That photo does it no justice. It's quite pretty IRL and it just sat on top of a big picture.

MrsHouseBrownie · 09/09/2017 14:58

Do you have any of those plastic wine glasses? Me and DD made snowglobes last Christmas out of them, like in the pic. You could try that with your base?

I'm sorry Cupcake it was a bit mean, but it does look a bit odd in the picture. Was it taken before the radiator incident or after?

CupcakeBabaPoo · 09/09/2017 15:02

Thanks for your suggestions all, I think I will look for a flat bottom glass bauble and put it in that then stick the rope back on top Sad

Haha pigs, don't worry! It was taken after the radiator incident. It's just one of those little things that makes the house look a bit less 'sterile' - my house is very ordered and everything has a place so stuff like that (and the Lego London bus I have sat on top of another picture on my stairs Blush) make it look a bit less bland.

OP take a look on Etsy . There are lots of glass baubles, albeit, most are decorated . New Dream World seller has plain undecorated baubles -- some to hang and some dual purpose ones with flat bottoms and also a hanger Various sizes. They obviously have holes on one side through which to place the ornament. Worth a look as reasonably priced if it's what you want. Have fun

CupcakeBabaPoo · 09/09/2017 16:07

Thank you Ben Smile That is a really good shout, plenty of choice from that seller.

You might be able to get a replacement glass dome at somewhere like Hobbycraft.

It looks quite small, so I'd do a search for "miniature glass dome". Etsy is also another place that might have them, as some sellers on there sell craft supplies.

Out2pasture · 09/09/2017 17:42

i live near a big chain craft store Micheals. They always carry glass domes for filling. Especially approaching Christmas.
