Coughs and sneezes

Nursery has just issued a letter to parents asking that children are not sent in if they have a runny nose or a cough.
I understand that germs will spread around and that's not nice but I personally don't get paid if I take a day off, these are toddlers, so if I keep them at home every time they have a runny nose, I'd probably lose my job.
I'm not sure what the severity of cough and sneezes are we talking here, but aibu to ignore this?? If my child is ill, I'll obviously keep them off but surely not just for a runny nose?!

Grin you are so not being unreasonable. There are some kids at that age who's never be in if they were kept off every tie they had a runny nose!

Assuming there's no special reason for this (eg immunosuppressed child/staff) this seems bonkers !

It depends on why - I would check (not wanting any sort of personal details/names of course) if that is a step taken because they have a vulnerable child/staff member/parent as that would Change my approach

My ds has had a snotty nose Practically since birth. I sometimes think that human snot is literally the glue that holds our family together. The nursery is bonkers to think no child can attend with any snot!!

Ya D nbu!!
