As I know I'm not being unreasonable to a) have my fire lit; b) have a huge glass of red wine; and c) an entire packet of grilled halloumi for my tea.....Grin

Nikephorus · 08/09/2017 18:50

TangledUpInGin · 08/09/2017 18:51

Nikephorus · 08/09/2017 18:59

Much better! If you cut the crusts off afterwards and eat them separately buttered then you'd be in supper heaven Grin

KweenOfFarts · 08/09/2017 19:00

YNBU as I'm a very happy peasant

  1. central heating on
  2. Bacardi & coke
  3. dinner from chip shop

Guess it's time to get winter stuff out of storage

StevieNicksRhiannon · 08/09/2017 19:02

OP,

(a) How lovely...am very envious of a real log fire crackling away.
Get those candles lit, too Smile

(b) Am more of a Gin person myself, but enjoy your Wine.
Is your "huge glass" like the one pictured here?
[source: www.prezzybox.com/wine-bottle-glass.aspx]

(c) Mmm, grilled Halloumi (said in tone of Homer Simpson's "Mmm, donuts").

Sounds like your weekend's off to a cracking start...hope the rest of it proves equally nice.

Put feta in foil with thyme and a dash of olive oil. Bake for 20mins. Eat with spoon side salad and bread

ILoveMillhousesDad · 08/09/2017 19:15

As long as you're not eating that feta with broadbean stew, it will be lovely Grin

Cavender · 08/09/2017 19:16

It's too early for wine here and too warm for a fire but I have Diet Coke, a swimming pool and 2.5 hours till the kids come home from school.

I would sadly love some mint matchmakers though.

StevieNicksRhiannon · 08/09/2017 19:16

OP,

Can you be my new friend? We have much in common... Grin
(I'd bring over my new was in half-price sale so was (ahem) FORCED to buy box of 10 assorted mini gins to share).

TangledUpInGin · 08/09/2017 19:24

LittleB, as luck would have it, I bought some thyme and feta today....alas, no salad, but mucky white bread in abundance 👌🏼👍🏼

OP posts:
TangledUpInGin · 08/09/2017 19:26

Stevie: You're clearly my new BFF if you've got (lots of) mini gins?? Where did you find such manna???!!! 😍

OP posts:
TangledUpInGin · 08/09/2017 19:28

Cavenda, I'm ignoring you as I'm immensely jealous of your swimming pool.....EnvyGrin how hot is it with you?? I'll bet it's not as hot as my living room 😅😂

OP posts:
Cavender · 08/09/2017 19:34

It's quite cool today only 28 degrees (I bet that didn't help at all) Grin

If it makes you feel better we were recently shut in the house for a week due to Harvey so I'm particularly enjoying the sunshine and garden today.

and now really, really want some matchmakers

KnitFastDieWarm · 08/09/2017 19:37

Wine and halloumi is the food/drink combo of the gods, I tell you!

I am on glass of wine number 2 3 and am listening to Prince, for some reason. It's working for me Grin

TangledUpInGin · 08/09/2017 19:42

Cavender, I'm going to let you off if you've being in the midst of a hurricane!! If you pm me your address I'll post you some matchmakers as I can't bare(bear??!!!) the thought of someone not able to access the magesty of matchmakers Grin

In a similar dilemma - what should I have for tea? In dire need of comfort food - preferably some kind of pasta with cheese/cream/pancetta etc. And wine. Don't really want to cook though (am I being horribly lazy?) Any inspiration please?

(Sorry to hijack your thread OP! Halloumi sounds amazing!!)
