I didn't even know there was a 111

jimijack · 07/09/2017 16:40

Definitely.

111 is none urgent medical help.

101 non urgent police line.

FooFighter99 · 07/09/2017 16:41

It used to be 0845 46 47 but they changed it in 2016

Posters on a thread are telling someone to report a dangerous driver to 111 but I'm not sure the NHS call handler will be able to help them Grin

I figured people would benefit from the correct information, hence the link Smile

I was gobsmacked that the news yesterday featured a woman who said she called 101 to find a dentist, gobsmacked that the news station aired such a mistake and gobsmacked that people don't know the difference.

I wonder how many calls 101 have received since that report asking for a dentist.

People should educate themselves on what services each number offers too.

The amount of people who ring 111 wanting an ambulance because they have no money for or taxi or demanding a drs appointment for a 6 week old cut finger because they haven't had time to go to the gp, or a bad back that they have had for 9 years at 11pm on Sunday night because they want to see a dr NOW beggars belief.

And they wonder why the NHS is stretched to the limit.

Don't even get me stared on the muppets who attended an A&E because their child had dog poo on their shoe....

I can't remember any of the non-urgent numbers, I'd probably end up waiting until I got home to google for them. Blush

I attended a first aid certificated course recently and only just learned there was a 112. I never knew that! I've been telling everyone but in the majority of cases I seemed to be the last to know.
