Caused by road accidents. Seriously?! This does my head in!! I just think it's so selfish to be complaining that you're stuck in a queue when some poor person has been involved in an accident. I see it all the time on Facebook 'shit day sat here for 2 hours' etc. Today with a good friend complaining about being late back to the office due to a serious accident where somebody was actually airlifted to hospital.
Aibu or is this really insensitive?!

It is frustrating to be stuck of course it is, and obviously depending on your job it can make things really difficult. However I am with you and my reaction is just to be greatful not to be involved in the accident and to hope everyone is ok.

YANBU it makes me cringe too. It's incredibly insensitive. It's like when I hear people moaning about train delays when someone has committed suicide on the tracks.

I always think, "Someone else is having a worse day than we are."

I understand people getting frustrated, especially given that most road accidents are caused by stupidity / carelessness / driving too quickly. But it's wrong to blame people who may be entirely innocent, in the wrong place at the wrong time, and who (if they're lucky) are now suffering life-changing injuries.
