to hate the word advanced with baby development

So fed up of seeing so and so is so " advanced "

No they are not they just did things before some babies do them .
Argh gives me the rage

In child development, advanced is not a connotation of superiority. It just means, as Flipperty said, that they did things earlier.

It's just as unreasonable to be sensitive about it as it is to be smug about it.

I think you are putting a connotation on t the word advanced that's not really there. If someone says they have an advanced form of cancer they aren't praising the cancer.

Children progress differently so it's pretty normal for them to be advanced in some areas and behind in others at any given time. Doesn't mean anything really.
