To think my friend has lost the plot?

My friend and work colleague has left her husband and 4 kids and set up home with a toyboy all in the space of 8 weeks after meeting him on Facebook.
I just can't understand it. This new guy doesn't have much going for him but she's completely besotted with him.

We have very frank conversations about this which she asks my opinion but then gets upset with my honesty. Well why ask me then?

She's turned into someone that I don't particularly like or have anything in common with anymore which is quite sad as we got on great before.
Pretty crap really when your friend is unrecognisable. Sad

Must be worrying. I guess all you can do is be there for her, so if it all goes wrong sge has someone to turn to.

That's tricky. Things obviously weren't going well in her marriage if she was so willing to up sticks.

What do you mean by "he hasn't got much going for him"? Younger than her? Not attractive? No career, no money? There's many reasons to fall for someone... Eight weeks is not long at all but I feel like she must have been keen to get out. Maybe she's been waiting for the right opportunity and grabbed it as soon as it came along.

Sorry that your friend is drifting away. There's nothing wrong with saying goodbye. She must have her reasons for this happening and ultimately it's her decision to make.

Maybe she is having some kind of mental ill health eg mania or psychosis? Probably more likely she's just made some poor choices though.
