Neighbours oil slick

AIBU to expect my neighbour to clean up their mess. Their car has leaked something that has now spread over to our side. I'm not happy to have to walk through it or clean it up or to have to ask them to clean it up. I'd be mortified if I had done this to them.

Have you asked them to clean it up?

Namechangetempissue · 04/09/2017 11:59

Pretty easy to sort -ask them to get some granules that soak it up. Cat litter also works well. If they are reasonable neighbours they should sort it out.

skinned33 · 04/09/2017 15:36

If they were reasonable they would of already cleaned it up.

Don't get how people can be so thoughtless.

It's hard to tell from the pics but going by the pretty colours it looks like diesel and calling it a "slick" seems a bit strong. It doesn't look like much. It'll wash away soon enough. Even a small amount of diesel landing on an already wet road can look like a larger amount than it really is.

LaurieFairyCake · 04/09/2017 16:18

It genuinely looks like the very smallest amount of fuck all Confused

Looneytune253 · 04/09/2017 16:22

Can barely see anything chill out!! There's always oil patches on the road outside ours. It just disappears on its own. They're not from my cat but I wouldn't even think about cleaning it up if it was

Lucisky · 04/09/2017 16:29

If that's diesel it will be very slippery. A couple of buckets of hot water and detergent chucked over it should sort it.

KurriKurri · 04/09/2017 16:34

They probably didn't see it - due to the lack of injured guillemots and dead fish.

AllTheWittyNamesAreGone · 04/09/2017 16:36

It really doesn't look like much, but if it really bothers you then have a chat with them.
