It's a dream within a dream within a dream

within a dream.....................

geekone · 03/09/2017 19:50

Awesome awesome film.

ChickenBhuna · 03/09/2017 19:50

I can't help you op. I tried to watch that on dvd and got brain ache pretty quickly.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 03/09/2017 19:52

Just look at Tom and don't worry about anything else.

godconfusion · 03/09/2017 19:52

It sounds like a film right up my street but I don't know who is who or what is going on...

So Leo is who?

Love it so much! As user says, it is dreams within dreams. The idea that if you can plant an idea (inception) in a dream then it can transfer over to real life.

Brilliant film.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 03/09/2017 19:53

Just Grin. Leo is the top man who can plant ideas within dreams - it's basically about lucid dreaming as well.

godconfusion · 03/09/2017 19:54

Why does Leo want to do plant ideas in dreams?? Is there a purpose? I'm guessing so I don't understand

It has taken me three goes to finally watch it and I love this sort of thing, so I feel your pain! Good ending.

NikiBabe · 03/09/2017 19:56

I have given up 3 times watching it.

RonSwansonsMoustache · 03/09/2017 19:57

One of my favourite films! Dreams within dreams within dreams...

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 03/09/2017 19:58

You need to watch it more than once! Don't try to understand it all in one go, just admire it!

Lots of reasons to plant ideas. In the film Leo's character plants ideas to help businesses. E.g. You can encourage someone to have a dream where they decide to give or lend someone lots of money and they then do it in real life. Not sure I am explaining this very well and don't want to give away plot to anyone who has not watched it!

BabychamSocialist · 03/09/2017 19:59

He plants things in dreams to aid his career as a criminal. So basically he could go into a CEO's dream and plant an idea in his subconscious forcing him to reveal all of his investments, or something.

It's an odd film but rewarding.

Monr0e · 03/09/2017 20:02

Love this film. So good. The fact it also stars the lovely Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Tom Hardy are an added bonus.

As to what's going on? Leo has been hired by rich guy to plant the idea in Cillian's head that he should dismantle his father's empire which would presumably make rich guy even richer. He does this by entering his dream. Simple, no?

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 20:03

just look at tom

And LEO! Grin They both look hot in this!

Intothenestofvipers · 03/09/2017 20:04

Oh thanks for this OP; I love Inception and had no idea it was on

Monr0e · 03/09/2017 20:04

Oh, I love the wardrobe in this film too. They all look so good in those suits.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 03/09/2017 20:05

Shutter Island also a very good film for the Leo fans.

NapQueen · 03/09/2017 20:06

I love this film but want to know what they do to fall asleep so quickly? What is their secret?

godconfusion · 03/09/2017 20:10

I'm going to have to buy it and watch it repeatedly till I get it Confused

NapQueen IV drugs. That's what the machine and wires are doing. And what the chemist concocts for them.

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 20:15

Shutter Island is fab too.

MrsHathaway · 03/09/2017 20:15

Love this film. Got the main themes first time (but am obsessed with dreams and dreams within dreams). Repeated watching adds depth to the experience.

Beautiful cinematography, too. If you get a chance to watch the "making of", do.

Am wrangling "not tired" DC. I think ITV2 has a +1 channel though ...

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 20:16

FWIW OP. I watched Inception THREE times before I got it! Smile

godconfusion · 03/09/2017 20:19

I can't follow films full stop. I've wondered why for years. It's like a brain block... I can read a book and follow it but visually a film plot I just can't follow without someone explaining it alongside me
