All women over 30 who haven't either been married or had a child are failures or desperate to marry/have kids?

Who thinks that?

You would be surprised at how many people at my job and in my social circle think like this.

Eh? I know loads of over 30s with no children or husband/wife. It's considered as normal in our area as far as I can tell. Some are travelling, some have very demanding careers, some simply don't want the 2.4 children life. Nothing wrong with that!

If I met someone who thought this, it would tell me everything I'd ever need to know about them.

Says who? I've got a few friends in their 40s and 50s single and no kids.

I am single but have a DD, have a friend of similar age (Early thirties) who is single and no kids and she said she always feels sad when she hears people talk like that and feels very much in the minority. I worry for her as she didn't want to celebrate her birthday as she feels she has achieved so little.
I find it shocking that these attitudes still exist in 2017.

Wow. People do like to share their crap ideas on how everyone else should live/feel about their lives. Tell them to bugger off!

The only person I know to think this is a woman who is 32 and doesn't have kids or husband/boyfriend. It boggles my mind when she bangs on about being a failure. Forget the fact she has a good job and owns her own house! She hasn't met the right man or had a child so obviously her life is a complete disaster!
