In wondering if this is normal after prolapse surgery/catheter removal?

On Thursday I had surgery for a front and back prolapse repair (anterior and posterior). All went well and I was discharged yesterday.

I had a catheter in, which was removed yesterday morning and I didn't the requisite wees so they were happy for me to go home. But I feel constantly like I need wee. When I do go I can't go straight away and it dribbles out. And I don't feel lie I'm fully emptying either.

I don't know if this is just normal, maybe swelling or something, or whether I need to contact the ward.

I'm not really in any pain apart from that "really need the loo" feeling. Anyone been through anything similar?

I would phone the ward asap as they might want you to come in through A&E. it doesn't sound like things are quite like they should be so I would get yourself checked out just to be safe.

Oh that sounds miserable op. The 2 times I've had a catheter inserted it's resulted in a UTI afterwards (felt like i needed to wee all the time even if id just had one, only able to wee a teeny bit and generally uncomfortable) I'd give the ward a call. You might just need some antibiotics. Hope youre feeling much better soon.
