Not AIBU but posting for traffic

I was wondering when CM received the funding payment from the government? My cm is doing the hours, I pay at the end of August for the month of September, I am entitled to the free hours, however my cm charges me full cost until she receives the payment from the government into her account and then refunds me whatever I have paid over.

Eg. we got 15 hours as from April however she didn't receive the funding payment till June, I got refunded the amount I had paid in full for April, May and June.

She doesn't know when it will arrive for September term as I have asked but was wondering if it anyone on here knew?

Seems a little odd, although I can understand her not wanting to be out of pocket.

We looked at a CM, and she was just going to deduct the hours from us, and she would claim it seperately

Dont know about the system but seems pretty fair for the CM to ask for payment up front.

Our LA pay six weeks after headcount day.

It might differ from LA to LA.

onion when is headcount day?

Not complaining about paying in advance, just explaining situation.

As far as I'm aware, it works out roughly a month in arrears, so payment for april would be made at the end of may

Some councils pay in arrears, sometimes a month some actually only pay quarterly in arrears.

Just another cock up in the whole 'free hours' system the gov never thought through. Councils can do what they like with the money they dont have to pay it all for childcare, they can keep some back and do whatever they want with it so end up paying childcarers less than their normal hourly rate and then pay them in arrears to add insult to injury.

CMs cannot afford to wait a month or more to be paid as they are paying out for things like food, activities, insurance, registration, resources, training etc every month never mind money for them to live on.

Seems like you have a good arrangement with your CM if you are happy thats a good relationship.
