Help first night at college!

Posting for traffic, sorry!!

I've been off work on maternity leave since June 2016 then was made redundant as I was about to return in july.
Thought it was a good time to reassess my career so I'm starting a CIPD qualification tonight at college and I don't know what to wear.
I know it doesn't really matter but should I go in my 'mum uniform' of skinny jeans, long sleeved tshirt, no make up or should I put on something smarter and a bit of make up?
Don't want to be the odd one out and I feel like everyone else may be coming straight from work....
My professional confidence has taken a hit this year and feel like I don't trust my judgement outside of mum & baby groups Blush

I would go sort of in between the two styles that you have suggested i.e. skinny jeans and top, but with a bit of make up. Sort of smart casual IYSWIM. Then if other students are arriving from work you will feel a little more confident.

It can be scary! I know because I returned to part time HE in my late 30s and was by far the eldest student on the course.

Great that you're doing it though! Good luck!

You could meet it somewhere in the middle. Skinny jeans, long t-shirt and a blazer or smart cardi. That was my go-to outfit on evening sessions for my course last year and I felt smart and conformist but also comfortable. Good luck with it all!

Ok so I've stuck on foundation, tinted lip balm and mascara, changed my top and added a cardigan, changed my shoes from trainers to dolly shoes and obviously ditched the nappy bag Wink
Hopefully I'll do!

I did years of CIPD classes.

Some participants will be coming straight from work and some won't. Those in business dress will likely be a majority.

Pitching it anywhere between the two will be fine.

Well it was a right mix of ages from 19-55 and everyone dressed differently so I needn't have worried. We finished early which is good as I'm not used to concentrating this late at night Shock start my mornings too early nowadays
