To think I'm psychic? Partly joking

I don't really believe in psychics and other woo, but I I often seem to predict things.

For example a number of times I've dreamt about a place or a building that I've never been to or seen, nowhere famous or anything like that, then months or even years later I've happened to visit that place.

I have a dream about someone who I haven't seen or thought of for years, then the next day I bump into them.

Last night/this morning I was having a very strange and detailed dream about a member of dhs family, not someone I have much contact with, I woke up to dhs phone beep and then dh nudging me to tell me news of this person.

Is it all just a coincidence or does anyone believe that we sense things?

I think if you look at the world in terms of everything being energy and vibration, it's not that surprising that you could have experiences like that. If more people looked into quantum physics it wouldn't even be considered "woo"! Smile

But the cynics will be along in a minute to tell us we're both wrong Grin

I've had things like this happen to me too. I've thought of certain people I haven't seen for years even and not long after I've bumped into them out shopping etc.
I also quite often sense who's calling my landline, even if its someone who doesn't ring regularly.

Synchronicity. I've done quite a bit of reading about this and subscribe to the concept (coined by Carl Jung). So many people experience it, too many to just dismiss it.

PeaFaceMcgee · 30/08/2017 14:19

You dream of more stuff that doesn't happen than does. See coincidence / confirmation bias etc.

Oysterbabe · 30/08/2017 14:23

It's confirmation bias.

I'm going to quote from the late, great Richard Feynman:

''“You know, the most amazing thing happened to me tonight... I saw a car with the license plate ARW 357. Can you imagine? Of all the millions of license plates in the state, what was the chance that I would see that particular one tonight? Amazing!”

The night Whitney Houston died. I had a dream where she was in a Hotel Room dancing Singing
I will always love you, but while the song is quite calm. She was singing It in remix mode.

I had a dream about my mum and She was smiling holding a baby.
That morning my sister phoned to tell me she was pregnant.

Still waiting for the my dream about the winning lottery numbers, mind
