Next door but one has been jiggapigging all day.
I am pissed off with the noise especially as ds is autistic so he is indoors. The noise is horrendous especially as it's bank holiday and the weather is lovely.
I realise there is nothing i can do about this but is it OK to ask him to stop for half an hour at 3.30 PM as we have people viewing our house and we are desperate to sell.

WWYD?

What is jiggapigging?

RainbowPastel · 28/08/2017 14:20

He's what?

Namechangetempissue · 28/08/2017 14:21

He's a what now?!
Did you mean jig-sawing?

SummerKelly · 28/08/2017 14:21

I don't know what it is either but YANBU to ask him to stop making a noise for your house viewing.

BunnyNeeded · 28/08/2017 14:22

I didn't think that was even legal. Poor piggy 🐖

Feilin · 28/08/2017 14:22

Im curious is jiggapigging a new dance excercise ? 😄

shivermytimbers · 28/08/2017 14:23

Do the pigs mind?

Nikephorus · 28/08/2017 14:23

I don't know what jiggapigging is but I've had neighbours' kids shouting at the tops of their voices for days, and other neighbours with loud music & I'm autistic so I'm struggling too. Had to resort to sitting outside with ear defenders on (and I could still hear the music). I'm counting the days till kids go back to school!

InsomniacAnonymous · 28/08/2017 14:24

Jiggapigging is in fact illegal on any day with a 'y' in it. It's Monday so call the police.

Margomyhero · 28/08/2017 14:24

I want to know what Jigapigging is?

Intriguing..

user1489094655 · 28/08/2017 14:26

My dh informs me it's a jiggapick not pig!!! At least I've now had a chuckle. I've got to 40 and thought it was a jiggapig! !!
Anyway he's breaking up a concrete Base in the back garden with a noisy tool!

?

Wine?

PeaFaceMcgee · 28/08/2017 14:27

I wouldn't mind stopping my jiggapigging for 30 mins for your viewing, and wouldn't mind being asked.

RainbowPastel · 28/08/2017 14:27

You mean a kango hammer.

amazonEcho · 28/08/2017 14:27

Ah, jack hammer!

Yes ask.

If not, tell the viewer that it's only just started and that you've never heard a squeak from them before etc.

Ceto · 28/08/2017 14:28

Google tells me you mean jigger pick. YWNBU to ask him to stop for a bit.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 28/08/2017 14:29

I think you can ask. Obviously, he's within his right to say no but I would be surprised if he did assuming he is a reasonable human being

user1490465531 · 28/08/2017 14:31

That's why I dream of owning a detatched property
Neighbours do my head in.

SparklyUnicornPoo · 28/08/2017 14:32

Grin I like jiggapigging, it's a great word. (it's jigger pick by the way)

YANBU to ask him to pack it in for the viewing, he'll need a break by then anyway.

Happytobefree17 · 28/08/2017 14:34

Grin jiggapig

FallingOrbit · 28/08/2017 14:37

Perfectly reasonable to ask him for a 30 min pause while your house is being viewed. He doesn't have to oblige but he would be a bit of a dickhead if he didn't. I would.

But even if he won't, it's not likely to affect your potential buyers, people do work on their properties and it's sometimes noisy. It wouldn't put me off, I'd just think there's some work going on and obviously it's not going to last forever.

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 28/08/2017 14:38

OP.
You have totally invented a new word, you realise.

I always call it a kadugger-digger.

(I will file this new word). I thank you

Spookle · 28/08/2017 14:50

Jiggapigging Grin I pictured a Peppa Pig pogo stick with boinging and springs squeaking. Not too far off to be fair Grin

Ttbb · 28/08/2017 15:09

Nothing wrong with asking, just don't get annoyed if they decline.

user1489094655 · 28/08/2017 15:13

Well, I asked and he said no probs, asked me about our potential move and said he'll have a rest and cup of tea. Was very nice neighbour!
