To ask how often your 3 yr old DC does a poo?

Sorry, posting here to get more replies. Worried about my 3.5 year old DD. She only goes around every 4 days. We've been away for a few days and I've realised she hasn't opened her bowels since last Wednesday, so it's been 8 days now. Taking her the doctors tonight to see if they'll prescribe anything. I've mentioned to the doctor before that she doesn't go very often and he said every three days can be normal.. but surely every 8 days suggests theres a problem?

Is she in pain?

My 3 year old will poo most days and at least every two days

Dancingfairy · 24/08/2017 12:17

Mine goes daily or every other day

Does she look like she struggles when she poos and what are the consistency of them when she does poo if they are hard and dry she might be constipated I have a child with chronic constipation he has other complex needs so getting medication on him is a struggle .

Lucked · 24/08/2017 12:20

One has always gone daily the other is every 1-2 days.

When she does poo what is the consistency - have a look at the Bristol Stool Chart.

In him*

Mine is only just 3 and is a very frequent pooer. Seems to be 1-2 times a day but 12 months ago it was 3-4. I'd be worried if she's uncomfortable/distressed.

LapinR0se · 24/08/2017 12:24

Mine is 2.11 and used to go every day. Since we started potty training she is going every 3 or 4 days and I am so worried

demirose87 · 24/08/2017 12:38

She doesn't seem in pain but she smears her poo when she does one. We're having a CAHMS assessment in the next few weeks because we think she may have a form of autism. She's a fussy eater but she does like her fruit and veg and drinks enough.

They are large stools but not overly hard.
