Is anyone else having issues with CMS? I just seem to be constantly on the phone to them, each time getting a different answer and now I'm told that all my the kids dad needs to pay per month is 72.09 for 2 children. He works full time, doesn't have them at all at the moment and can afford lovely holidays. So he's far from skint! I'm feeling totally let down by the service.

No real advice to offer but it's a shambles. You're definatley not on your own. My ex is similar and pays next to nothing as well.

They are no words to describe them. Ian so frustrated with them. I have managed to find out their new systems are not working how they should but to be honest it goes deeper than that.

Every time I call it feels like they just can't be arsed. I have repeatedly told them that the sperm donor works full time etc, and today is the first time anyone has admitted that they can request current pay details from the employer if the nrp isn't responding.

OP, it's worth putting his estimated income in here www.gov.uk/calculate-your-child-maintenance

Think yourself lucky that you get paid! My ex doesn't pay a penny and Cms can't touch him as it's all cash in hand.

bettytaghetti · 24/08/2017 23:52

Dancingfairy perhaps the Inland Revenue would have better luck at 'touching' your ex?! Wink

QueenOfVipers · 25/08/2017 06:53

I don't think anyone should consider themselves lucky for receiving the legal minimum.
That's the attitude that leads to dads who pay £16 a month and take their kids to McDonald's twice a year being called no less than a messiah
Although I do feel for you dancing. 'Tis a shambles of a system.
And I'd definitely make a call to hmrc
