To be annoyed with Virgin Trains East Coast?

I saw with excitement today that there was a sale starting at 10am today, me and DP live long distance so love these sales as it gives us a chance to see each other more often.

So I rush on at 10am, fill the basket with two return journeys at £36 return each and then it crashes. FOUR FREAKING TIMES!! The fifth it decided to up the prices to £88 return each.

AIBU to think these sales are just a scam to get people to come online at a certain time and lure them in? I'm so annoyed at the service and advertising all these tickets and then they aren't even available!

I think so many people want the cheap deals that it causes the website to crash.

Not a scam just you have to be lucky

Wait ten minutes and the 4 sets of tickets it held each time it crashed will be released as sale didn't go through. No annoyance necessary Grin

If they did Migraleave I wouldn't be here complaining about it now ten hours later!

Loads of complaints on Twitter about it too, it was literally like a stampede for concert tickets.

I got Virgin train sale tickets in March but the sale was on for a week and didn't have any problems with it crashing.

I've had it with other tickets where it's crashed and I missed out on front row Impractical Jokers and had to make do with 20th row! Luckily I wasn't going and it was for DH and DS
