To get riled by "like and share" posts

Is it just me? Or does anyone else get really wound up by people on FB sharing these "we have 15 campervans that we can't sell as they are old stock, so we are giving them away", or "Mrs Jones won a holiday to Barbados but hasn't claimed it, like and share to win it" Why does anyone believe this dross? I realise I can just scroll past it but I have to stop myself commenting "no they aren't" on every one because it drives me nuts.

They are annoying but not as annoying as the "most people won't post this" nonsense.

CoughLaughFart · 22/08/2017 14:42

Or anything that begins with 'Delete me if I'm wrong!' or 'Going to be saying goodbye to some of you...'

MrGrumpy01 · 22/08/2017 14:50

Yes I have a handful of people who 'like and share' these type of posts. There is a centre parcs one doing the rounds at the moment. It may be genuine but never click to find out.

Tensecondrule · 22/08/2017 14:51

Or "don't scroll past without saying Amen"...or "nobody will wish him happy Birthday because he's too ugly" cue 25k "happy birthday" comments.

Yes the 'Amen' ones irritate me the most. Or 'type yes if you agree' grrrrrrrr

minoandolphin · 22/08/2017 16:08

I've seen ones friends have liked and shared despite the fact that the post is about 5 years old and whatever (probably fictional) competition there was is long over. They're pretty irritating.

But nothing makes me angrier than the ones that end with 'only 2% of people will share this. I bet I know which of my friends will' after some utterly offensive shit about a kid who will be miraculously cured of a terminal illness if they get 1000 shares, or some trite rubbish about how friends are all special rainbows or somesuch. I take great pleasure in ignoring these and unfollowing whichever brainless moron posted it.

Gets a bit tricky when it's my mum...

YABU. Don't expect your friends to change their annoying habits. If they are daft, they are daft. Block them so you don't have to waste time reading this nonsense. You'll never miss them.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 22/08/2017 16:53

The ones giving me rage at the moment are the 'these names will get pregnant / have a girl / boy / go on holiday this year. .." such a load of wank!

DollyPartonsBeard · 22/08/2017 17:01

Asking people to share a post on FB for a competition is against FB'S Ts&Cs

m.facebook.com/page_guidelines.php

Click 'report' instead of share!

TieGrr · 22/08/2017 17:05

Oooh Dolly, didn't know that! Like and Share competitions annoy the hell out of me.

TwatteryFlowers · 22/08/2017 17:35

My fb feed at the moment seems to be an endless list of clickbait articles along the lines of, "She opened her front door and you won't believe what she found inside..." I see more of them than I do posts from actual friends/groups.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/08/2017 17:39

Why don't you use the hide option?

MVLipwig · 23/08/2017 00:06

The likely to get pregnant ones are often the most popular names in a year and average age of motherhood. So there's some sense in them. Still ridiculous though

LazaUbi · 23/08/2017 09:33

So annoying. Unfriend!
