Annoyed and disgusted. 4yo DD attending preschool full time and recently this girl kind of latched onto her and is preventing her from playing with everyone else. She literally physically sticks herself between her and anyone else she plays or talks with. Takes her hands and pulls her. She is also constantly sick and sucks her fingers, and DD started to pick this habit from her, as well as her manner of speech. Today she told me they were taunting one of the teachers and she made up a song: "X is boring, we don't like X, X has BROWN SKIN, we don't like X" . I am horrified and disgusted. She says nobody said anything or stopped them, maybe other teachers didn't hear (end of the day). WWYD?

I would verify that all these facts were true
That's a lot of information you've picked up about a child who you don't see all day long.

Are you sure that's the friend's fault? It's hard to hear about your own kids, but sometimes they think up this shit on their own. I'd speak to the school if I were you and find out how your dd behaves in school.

How do you know most of what goes on in school?
If you are concerned then speak to the teachers.

I hope you talked to DD about the song and why it was wrong of her to sing it?

ArgyMargy · 21/08/2017 21:24

She told you they were taunting a teacher? That seems an unlikely thing for a child to say.

ArgyMargy · 21/08/2017 21:25

Did the teacher say nothing to you, as your child was involved?

Birdsgottafly · 21/08/2017 21:29

Disgusted by your DD and her friend, or just their behaviour?

Four year olds don't have the same reasoning as older children, they need things explaining to them. They don't understand how harmful what they have said is.

Have you explained to your DD what she did wrong?

I would have a word with the teacher, just to have an eye kept on things.
