Loud party next door...

How late does it have to be before the police will take it seriously? It's soooo loud! Think 20 teenagers in the biggest hot tub you've ever seen, playing drinking games. How dare they have fun??? 😂

Are you a neighbour of mine? Grin

I also have a loud party happening in the house over the back from me which sounds like teenagers. I presume it's A level celebrations.

Most police forces "don't deal with noise" and will tell you to log it with your council. Unless there it other stuff going down, like fighting on the street etc.

sparechange · 19/08/2017 22:58

You need to call the environmental health team from your local council

They'll have a out of hours number on their website

The police will only get involved if it spills out onto the street or there is something Criminal going on

Between 11pm and 7am it's night time hours and noise has to be below a certain level usually 34dBA which is around the level of a normal conversation. You need to call up your local council and they will come out instead but if they need to they will call the police (who will take them seriously)

AntagonyAunt · 19/08/2017 23:14

Unless it's a regular occurence I would just put some ear plugs in and let them have their fun.

ShitOrBust · 19/08/2017 23:53

If you smell drugs you could always tip off the police. The cops'll be round for that.

Jessiecat27 · 19/08/2017 23:56

My boyfriend and his noisy friend has just gone out so hopefully I've solved someone's problem! Haha, I hate it too but ring 101 and they can advise, it's nearly midnight!

Bonosbiatch · 19/08/2017 23:56

Thanks everyone. It's calmed down now. I totally didn't think about results day - they should still be partying by rights 😂

A friend, our local dentist, was celebrating her 40th birthday party with a marquee in the garden, etc. She checked with the local police that they would be allowed to party outside in the garden until midnight. The cops said fine as long as no neighbours complained otherwise they'd have to shut them down at 10pm. They also suggested inviting all the neighbours along Grin
Seems that someone did complain, so they had to stop the outside fun.

Genuinely think you live near me. I have a large teenager hot tub party to my right :/. Luckily my ten month old is sleeping through it.

Bonosbiatch · 20/08/2017 09:53

If you're in the east mids... Probably 😂
