To be fed up with leaks?

This is driving me mad...

A while ago I had an ensuite installed. The room was in an extension so all new plumbing, the first fix was done, the guy I hired just had to second fix it ie actually connect stuff up, tile etc.

He did a crappy job. Tiles aren't straight, spaces are too big. Sink leaked, a few days later the shower started leaking too. He didn't know why sink was leaking, said the shower needed sealing. Found out he was on verge of bankruptcy so didn't bother trying to get my money back, and he clearly wasn't coming back to rectify it.

I then had someone else doing some odd jobs for me, he sealed the shower again. Still leaked.

So couldn't use that or the sink.

I then got someone to do another job for me, installing a sink in a different room. That too leaks. He has ignored all my messages asking him to come back.

Latest today another plumber came, said he could fix the shower and sink. I'm not convinced he's fixed the shower and the sink is still leaking! I doubt he will come back so that's another £100 wasted....

Honestly I despair... 😣

And I am still running round the house with wet floors and towels...

Where are you finding these plumbers?! They sound awful. Can you ask friends/family for recommendations?

Wetfloors · 19/08/2017 12:46

Through friends recommendations and those trusted trader sites!

Seems to make no difference to the quality of work.

I just want not to be mopping leaks up constantly Sad

Report them to said sites and is there a governing body over plumbers you could report to?

Wetfloors · 19/08/2017 13:20

Sites don't seem interested, I think the bankrupt guy isn't a member anymore tbh.

I just want a leak free house.

If it's not leaks, it's dripping taps. As well as the leak left today, the tap is also dripping. It's like Chinese water torture...
