Omg I apologise for this road rage thread but I can't keep it in no more!
AIBU to think other drivers should say thank you (in a drivers code) when you go out of your way to give way.... or to reverse half way down Damn road to let someone through a tight squeeze.. or let someone out a junction... the list goes on.today on a very tight road I came through and was approached by oncoming car the parked car was on her side she looked flustered so I reversed back down to junction so she could pass me. As she passed she just glared at me like it was my fault! Not even a smile ! I'm refusing to go out of my way from now on ! Sod it! Sorry for rant Flowers

YANBU! I hate drivers who don't say thank you for any type of road courtesy. It's just plain and utter rude if you ask me. Same goes with pedestrians who don't say thanks for letting them cross when they're not even at a crossing.

Yanbu. At all. This is a pet hate of mine too. Courtesy costs nothing.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one !

YANBU. Where I live is full of women in 4x4s who can't drive them properly (full of scrapes) and who think that their incompetence means everyone else on the road must automatically have duty to accommodate them and get out of their way. They are usually SAHM (sorry) who are extremely glamorous and full of filler and botox but bitterly unhappy.

the other main culprit is middle aged women who have lost all confidence in driving and so pootle about looking terrified and gripping the steering wheel with blue fingers - they are too full of anxiety to say thank you.

Generally (and I wouldn't say this if it weren't startlingly noticeable) most men are more polite though i expect that is partly through a fear of getting punched in a road rage incident if they are rude.

Nice comments there Kimmy.

Most people do seem to say thank you IME. Sometimes not, but I'd rather they were concentrating on getting their car through a narrow gap than waving to me.
