I am a member on another forum and have a user name.
In response to my post a member wrote my real name starting "Dear Mary " ( Mary is not my name)
Excuse was I might be an internet troll !! The post was about a beach nothing argumentative
Dont know how he got my real name. Whats the point in having user names ?
I have asked him to remove my real name as well as contacting the forum moderators. I dont know this person. I know he is male as he closed his post regards Derek.

He's probably done some internet stalking. It's not that hard...if you go back over someone's posts far enough you can work a lot out.

Someone on here did it to those who agreed once to prove a point. It was alarming.

Did you have to enter your real name when you signed up? Do people on the forum maybe have profiles that come up with details like that when you click their username?

You don't know they are male though. Just that they used a male name.

Yes, I'm so paranoid that the email address I use for this account is an email address that doesn't have my name in it. I'm not paranoid enough though. Even though I name change like the weather I probably have a 'style' and reveal too much. BE careful. imo.
