I know I'm probably gonna get told I am bu but I don't think I am but here goes..if the bin men drop something out of my bin whilst emptying it aibu in thinking they should pick it up!! They frequently drop things out around here and just leave it in the middle of the street. Now I didn't put it on the floor you knocked it out so why should I have to pick it up!

YANBU, that would irritate me too.

But not really relevant in our area as our council don't provide wheelie bins, most people won't buy their own, so the foxes usually get to the rubbish before the bin men do! Hmm

The should pick it up. Who is the sweeper you are referring to Freudian never seen one in years.

They won't let you have more than one bin here no matter how many people live in the property so sometimes it gets over filled.

They should but they can't be bothered. It's a real problem here - we have recycling boxes for paper which they tip into a big wheelie bin to transfer into the lorry but the way they upend the boxes means that bits float away & don't get picked up. Then they hurl (literally) bags of rubbish along the pavement or across the road and the bags split. Do they clear it up? Nope. And when bags get ripped open by animals / birds overnight (because they have to be out at the crack of dawn on the off chance the binmen will be round early) then the binmen are supposed to pick up but can't be bothered. But if you wait til morning to put your rubbish out you risk being too late because their timing is random. Crap service but then my council uses contractors for everything so no-one gives a toss.

Oh glad you agree with me! Thought it might just be me!! It's embarrasing aswell having your rubbish all littered up the street. Sometimes I'm pig when they come so come home to my rubbish in my middle of the road. I can't believe they don't bother to pick up a split bin bag! I'm glad that's not happened here it's normally just a few bits but still annoying and no excuse not to pick up one of two that fall out.
