you can buy cheap ones from pound shops, B and M and so on ( best to stock up ) - they dont tend to last as long as the more expensive brands, but they are worth a go.

Aldi batteries are great and cheap. Less than £2 for a pack of 8, not much choice though. AA or AAA is your lot.

I agree about medicines, savers is good for things like creams and cough mixture, tablets and so on - some places tend to charge the earth for the basics. (Boots for example)

YANBU. I was going to suggest the Aldi ones too, they seem to last well but my local one are frequently out of stock of AAs.

Never tried Aldi ones so may give it ago . Iv just spent 24quid on Duracell ( always was told by my wonderful dad to buy decent batteries - god rest his soul )

I buy packs of 40 Duracell at a time, from Amazon or 7 Day shop, usually cost around £15

Pound shops, B&M, Home Bargains, Wilko. Online there is a company called Battery Force that sell "brands" at a cheaper price.

Rechargeable batteries are the way to go!

Agree with a previous poster, lidl batteries came first in a review over even duracell

I keep a stock of cheap pound shop batteries in but for everyday use but power hungry things like my bridge camera I use the Lidl ones, the ones in at the moment are over a year old and still going strong

Ikea are also v reasonable. We stock up on a few sizes each time we visit

We use recharables. They are expensive, but we spent 6 months buying a pack whenever we did a big shop and have quite a stash now.

Mega cheap Wilkinson's ones are excellent. I had one power my wireless mouse and it lasted 3 months.

I got some, allegedly, decent ones and only get a month out of them if I'm lucky.

Ikea came out top for value for money in the test I saw. We always use Morrisons value though. £1.69 for a 12 pack of AA. Never had an issue with them being useless personally.

DH told me never to buy zinc batteries as they're so crap you end up spending more money as you go through them so fast.

So I buy anything other than zinc

The pound shop ones are shite. They last about two seconds in a child's toy (or a hand held fan)

Poundland has Kodak batteries, decent sizes packs of AA and AAA!

I use Poundland (Kodak or whatever they have) ones and they're fine. Only use them in my remote and one other device to be fair though..

Poundland are fine - just buy the better brands. I've found the Kodac ones to be fine and you get about a dozen AA for a quid.
