So DH and I had a slight disagreement the other night. I must have been giving him a Hmm look (didn't think I was).

He said "don't look at me with those ugly eyes". I took exception I admit. He said he wasn't saying I was ugly and next morning said he meant it as I was looking at him with my ugly filter on (how I was seeing him?)

I said just don't use that word, it's horrible. Anyway he won't apologise as he didn't mean it the way it was said, despite me saying he had hurt my feelings.

AIBU and over sensitive and let it go?

You are definitely being over sensitive

Ameliablue · 16/08/2017 14:23

Over sensitive. Sometimes the correct word escapes you and you use one that doesn't quite fit.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 16/08/2017 14:24

Sorry but YABU and overly sensitive.

Julia001 · 16/08/2017 14:24

Definately being a tad over sensitive here.

AliciaMayEmory · 16/08/2017 14:26

Agree with the other posters. Yabu.

Bluewithblueeyes · 16/08/2017 14:26

Thanks ladies. That's why I asked. I am sensitive and do take everything literally and can get wires crossed on what people really mean. I haven't mentioned it again so will get over myself. Smile

I'm going to go against the grain say. YANBU or O.S.
Not to be an awkward cow, but because. It'd piss me off as well

CardsforKittens · 16/08/2017 14:33

If I said something that unintentionally hurt my partner's feelings I would apologise. I wouldn't think my partner was oversensitive either.

Llanali · 16/08/2017 14:36

I think you're over sensitive on this one I'm afraid.

Ugly eyes to me, would mean a narrowed, hard, unpleasant expression. My mum used to say "don't look at me with that stroppy face".

I don't think eyes could actually be ugly, could they?!
