....to think we've been put in time out?

Booked DS onto the summer school run by his swim school; he's booked in for 4 consecutive days, today was the first day.

When we first booked we were given a 10.30am time slot, but a few days later, I received a call asking if we were able to move into the 10am slot as 'there are more children in that session of his age and ability'. We arrived this morning, DS was the only child in that session. The children arrived for the 10.30 session and were waiting at the edge of the pool as our session was finishing, and all looked to be around the same age as DS, there were only 5 of them, the maximum class size is 10.

Am I being paranoid/unreasonable to wonder if we've been put there away from the other children Confused? Brief bit of background, DS is going through a phase of being a bit clingy in the water, but this is normal for his age and several others in his regular class are going through the same phase. Tempted to ring the office and see if there's an issue/offer to swap to another time slot so they don't have to run a session just for us. Is it wanky to ring the office?

Not wanky at all. I'd want an explanation.

Did it mean your ds got 1to1? If so- sod the reason, don't do anything to rock the boat!

If he is getting 1 to 1 attention I'd leave at that! Best way to learn to swim.

Maybe there were other kids who hadn't turned up or refused to get in the pool or whatever.

He is getting 1:1 which is a bonus, but it's twice the price (literally) that I could get 1:1 for at the local baths. There are definite perks to having the extra attention, but I think I'm just abit taken aback as the classes are usually full with a waiting list. This is the first time they've run a summer school, if all of the classes are as quiet as the ones I've seen (the one before ours was only 3 children) then I suspect this may be the last too.

The teacher said that there were two children attending the 10am slot yesterday (we weren't booked on to that one as we were busy) and only DS booked for the rest fo the week.
