To ask for help about a refund?

Hello,

So DP bought train tickets with Virgin Trains East Coast to visit me - rather than him come here we've changed and now I'm going to him. Called VT to try and amend the booking to be told they refund the original tickets and I need to rebook new ones.

So they processed the refund at about 4pm, and now DP has informed me his card was cancelled and he now has a replacement. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Will we still be able to get a refund as this apparent refund is going nowhere as the card is cancelled and he has a new card number.

Thanks for any advice Smile

I had a similar thing happen. Money automatically went into my new account a few days later then it usually would take and my bank sent me a letter informing me that x amount had been deposited into my closed account and they had it transferred to my new account.

Best to phone the bank.

As long as it's the card that's cancelled and not the account closed it's fine. The bank will refund it to the account. Panic not.

Does that happen even if it was a credit card used to pay for it? As I'm not sure which account he's gone and used

Yes - with a credit card it is a new number but still the same account.
