To wonder where a butternut squash could be hiding?

I'm not really showing at all! I don't really look pregnant even. Still in same size jeans from before pregnancy, etc.

Baby is supposedly now the size of a butternut squash. I feel him loads, he's definitely in there Hmm

Where the blooming hell is something the size of a butternut squash hiding?

He's hardly a tiny little orange anymore.

Did you have a bit of a belly before? I do and my belly didn't get bigger until around 6 months, it just got less wobbly!

PaperdollCartoon · 12/08/2017 14:05

You must be carrying far back towards your spine and your organs have just conveniently move to fit him in.

BeeFarseer · 12/08/2017 14:07

I came on to suggest looking in your tumble dryer, as that's where my toddler DS hid one once.

Note to self: not all Mumsnet threads are literal. Grin

Flopjustwantscoffee · 12/08/2017 14:09

Bee Fraser, I came to suggest rolled under the sofa. Not that likely having read the thread.

Popskipiekin · 12/08/2017 14:11

Hahaha I came on to suggest it must have hooked up with my halloumi which I still can't find after completely emptying the fridge... I'll leave now.

pigsDOfly · 12/08/2017 14:22

How large is this butternut squash?

If it's the same size as the one I bought yesterday, I would think it could quite easily hide far back near your spine, as pp said.

My DD is very slim and she didn't really start to show till quite late in both her pregnancies. She was sent for several scans because she was measuring small; both babies were eight pounders.,

PinkHeart5911 · 12/08/2017 14:26

Is it your 1st baby? Sometimes first pregnancies don't show until late

With my first I had no real bump until 7 months then it came out of nowhere!

I'm now expecting my 3rd and I'm 20 weeks and honestly I look huge pregnant already

BlueIsYou · 12/08/2017 14:37

I'm 7 months pregnant! Shock So baby is quite big already.

No belly before pregnancy, no

I'm 13 weeks and it looks like I'm smuggling a melon already. Be thankful you haven't lost your centre of gravity or wardrobe. I'm jealous.

PurpleTraitor · 12/08/2017 14:45

What's seven months these days? Is that seven as in those people who decide a month is four weeks and therefore they are 7 months at 28 weeks but their app sent them a 'you're in your seventh month' update four full weeks ago so they are rounding up and actually around 24-25 weeks? Or 'two months till you are due to give birth' seven months meaning you're due early-middle of October?

BlueIsYou · 12/08/2017 15:07

Purple I'm due late October

It's so much easier to calculate in weeks.

I wore my normal jeans right to the end with my first pregnancy and baby was a boringly average 7.5 lb if that helps.

Avonandice · 12/08/2017 18:34

I didn't look pregnant with my first till about three weeks before giving birth, was still in competition dresses till I stopped competing at 7.5 months mainly due to my balance going on holiday. Woman in boots refused to sell me any nursing bras as she didn't think I was pregnant enough.

According to the doctor I had very strong core muscles which kept everything into my back.

mummyofmoomoos · 13/08/2017 04:42

I clicked on this as i do have an actual butternut squash loose in the house somewhere and i was hoping to roast it for soup tomorrow- thought it was ace that i am not alone.

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 13/08/2017 04:47

Nobody could tell I was pregnant at 9.5 months! Then I gave birth to a 9 lb 12 sumo wrestler! DH, the midwife and I were all Confused.

t3rr3gl35 · 13/08/2017 07:08

As pp said, it sounds as if baby is lying back against spine. I had a tilted uterus and didn't look pregnant at all first time around, and was still wearing my normal jeans fully zipped and buttoned when I had my second. Both were a reasonable weight for my size and frame, although would be considered quite small nowadays. I had lots of scans towards the end of each pregnancy due to the bumps not growing, something to do with the top of the something??? not being felt above my umbilical cord. The downside was varicose veins due to pressure - not in my legs, but somewhere altogether less desirable...

SuperDandy · 13/08/2017 08:53

It's made off with the fish I lost last week to make beautiful dinner together. Probably attracted by the pheromone stink of the fish.

Seriously, how do you lose fish between the car and the fridge and not find it again after a week when it must be reeking!? Where the fuck could it possibly be?

Don't fret OP, your tiny squash will morph into a marrow any day no worries and sproing outwards like an autoinflating gym ball.

Lucked · 13/08/2017 08:56

My friends wife never showed for any of hers. She was super fit with an incredible core although this can't be the only reason as plenty of athletes and fit peple show.

badbadhusky · 13/08/2017 08:57

This ^. Come your second pregnancy (major presumption), you'll probably pooch out when its still the size of a grape. Wink
