To be cheesed off when threads just disappear?

Just that really especiallywhenI'mtotallyoverinvested-- - one minute, politely and discreetly following with interest. The next? Gone, kaput, it is no more, it is an ex-thread, etc etc

OP posts:
Happytobefree17 · 11/08/2017 23:06

I agree. That's why I think threads I'm watching should also get the deletion message. Which would also mean fewer placemark posts for the DM.

Adnerb95 · 11/08/2017 23:09

Ok the thread looked dodgy from the outset, but ....

Rainbunny · 12/08/2017 00:35

I'm at the point where I view any thread topic that is remotely unusual or dramatic as fake. Are you referring to the recent series of threads on the same dramatic personal topic where the OP posted a zillion times?

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 12/08/2017 01:27

Which one?

HeartburnCentral · 12/08/2017 01:33

Which thread? It's so frustrating. It would be so much better if they locked threads or give 24hr notice first instead of deleting instantly.

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 12/08/2017 01:37

YANBU especially if you're talking about the ones where MNHQ claim they are deleting for privacy reasons when really the OP has just thrown a strop.

SecondBreakfast · 12/08/2017 07:48

I was looking for those yesterday eve after being out all day. Did think the OP was remarkably chipper throughout and positively gleeful in the 3rd thread opener. Hmm But carried on reading anyway. What did the deletion message say?

Not a TAAT! Grin

Adnerb95 · 12/08/2017 09:14

Rainbunny and second breakfast - I think we are talking about one and the same 😉
Horrible though when MNetters are drawn in and being so genuinely supportive. How cynical.

OP posts:
Adnerb95 · 12/08/2017 09:16

I didnt even see a deletion message

OP posts:
Rainbunny · 13/08/2017 00:52

Adner95 - yep that's the one! I was sure it was fake from an early stage but it was an entertaining read Grin

I don't understand what 'fun' people derive from making fake threads though, it's a bit pathetic really isn't it?

WaitrosePigeon · 13/08/2017 00:56

Yes, annoying.

Wondering why they can't be locked instead of deleted?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/08/2017 00:59

Are you talking about the trapped in the neighbours' thread? That's disappeared from threads I'm on without even a deletion message. That's really weird.

I doubt it's a massive conspiracy. Probably some gin soaked poor tired MNHQer pressed the wrong button.

AgathaRaisonDetra · 13/08/2017 01:02

Careful now, otherwise this thread will go pfffffffft.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 13/08/2017 01:03

I had that a few nights ago, literally 3 threads deleted, one during the first 5 mins I clicked on it. I think sometimes it depends on who is moderating and weather they are a bit trigger happy.

Please don't delete this one!

SerfTerf · 13/08/2017 01:04

Which ones are you talking about?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/08/2017 01:05

I think we're ok. It's not like we're speculating on anything that could be libellous.

Also, if something has got broken in the deletion process MNHQ will want to know and it won't be a TAAT it will be a TAAWTTH (thread about a weird thing that happened),

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/08/2017 01:07

Unless you lot are? Wink

There's really no need to be coy. The trapped in the neighbours' house bollox thread has strangely disappeared. It is strange and unusal and I can't think of a time it's happened before and I'm an old gimmer a long standing poster.

CremeFresh · 13/08/2017 01:07

I thought the SW one was a bit iffy.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/08/2017 01:09

TBH all the SW threads are iffy... what was the latest and has it gone pouff with no trace too?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 13/08/2017 01:11

Oh it's there on the link! Maybe I'm broken Grin Grin

PodgeBod · 13/08/2017 01:17

What gets me is when I'm following a nice juicy thread on the app and it freezes and tells you the thread has been deleted and you can't even see the deletion message. At least let me finish reading it Angry

CremeFresh · 13/08/2017 01:19

The SW one had a deletion message.

CremeFresh · 13/08/2017 01:21

If the Trapped one has gone poof how can it still be seen on that link ?

CrochetBelle · 13/08/2017 01:21

Whats the Sw one?
