Dog shit alley

I live about ten minutes away from where I work and walk through a large cobbled alley. This is the main way through to work/town and I pass through it at least twice a day. my main problem is for the past two weeks it's being used as a toilet for the local dogs. It's getting really bad now with no one picking it up to the point where you have to really watch where you step. I'm on the late shift today and as I've left my house and lo and behold I've stepped in a huge pile! I didn't notice right away and by the time I did I was too far away to turn round and change my shoes. I've come into work today and dealt with it the best I could but I've now got to work until 7pm with shoes that are faintly stained with dog muck!!!! I'm just so fed up with it! When my DSD comes to visit and we walk through to get to the park I'm on tenterhooks that she'll step in it. It's just so bloody inconsiderate to the other people who walk through there.

WIBU to go to the council about this? I don't even know what they'd do/how to go about it but it's really really becoming a nuisance Angry has anyone had a similar situation??? How did you get it resolved? Short of standing outside and trying to catch the CF dog walkers in the act I'm at a loss at what to do!!!!!!!

I have a similar issue with a path near my house ... the thing is, it's literally only one or two people who let their dogs shit there. But means 7 - 14 turds a week, which is a hell of a lot and horrible for those that use it (it leads to a busy public transport stop).

I would speak to the council about signs and dog waste bins. Although some ignorant twats won't use them, some people will feel shamed into it.

Massively annoying I know. We ALWAYS cleaned up after our own dogs; there's no excuse not to.

YANBU, it's disgusting. I own a dog and always pick up after her. I understand if your dog's off lead and disappears into the undergrowth you might miss one, but this is clearly different.
