Or does 'relaxed fit' just mean a size too big?

I have two items of clothing now - a pair of dungarees and a pair of shorts - which were both sold as 'relaxed fit'. The shorts are too big and the dungarees fit, but are a size smaller than usual. Can't shops just make clothes to the correct size and let customers go a size bigger if they want to?

With jeans they would fit around the waist so they don't fall down, but would be baggier elsewhere

The waist size would be correct, but they allow more room in the thigh, unlike skinnies.

That's what I thought when I purchased but in both cases they're also too big around the waist

In my case I find 'relaxed fit' means 'frumpy and extremely unflattering, adds 10lbs on to your arse and thighs'

Aeroflotgirl · 10/08/2017 18:20

I got some relaxed skinnies, meant that they were not so tight tgat I had to peel them off, or not strangling my legs. Close fitting, but not ultra skinnies, as some jeans are.

For me, relaxed fit means tight around calves then mahoosive around thighs/bottom waist.

I hate them.

PickAChew · 10/08/2017 18:28

I quite relaxed fit. More room in the thigh without a baggy arse. I love skinnies but relaxed fit is more comfortable in warm weather.

YY, what @TheUpsideDown said - I find that anything sold as "relaxed fit" is unflattering/frumpy.

I love relaxed skinnies, skinnies that are not sprayed on, that comfortably hug you with a little room.
