To think this is long for a takeaway?

I ordered food at 7.25, I got an email to say it will be delivered at 8.45. The shop is 1.6 miles from me and I only ordered chicken burger and chips.

Depends how many delivery orders they have on. If they have no available drivers it takes longer. Used to hace a chinese down the road that would take over an hour for delivery but only 20 mins for collection.

Not really if they're busy

Maybe there give long delivery times so you're pleasantly surprised when it comes "early"? Or just to cover themselves so you can't complain if it really is that late.

Not unheard of for my local takeaway to give a similar waiting time but half the time it comes earlier.

Sometimes our take away would say an hours wait, and then its turn up half hour later.

Letstryagainshallwe · 08/08/2017 20:09

Oh hopefully it turns up earlier then. I'm hungry Grin

A) Did it arrive?
B) Any leftovers going spare?

I used to deliver for a Chinese takeaway. I used to hate the fact that customers in the shop got priority over those who ordered a delivery. I was the one who got moaned at and got a smaller tip when it took ages for a meal to arrive.
