Hi all, for the past 3 months I have had a dull ache/ burning sensation in my right breast. I have been to the doctor and she has referred me on to the breast clinic, she didn't find any lumps when examining me. She thinks it will be October before I'm seen. Have any of you had anything similar? I'm 40 btw, I'm really worried....

Surely there should be no more than a two week wait for clinic?

My doc just tried to refer me 'routinely ' and couldn't so I am on a two week turnaround.

Heaviness in left breast and shooting pains in nipple here.

I had this and it was just hormonal (perimenopause). But it should always be checked out. Obviously go back if anything changes (swelling, changes in the appearance of the skin, inverted nipple etc). Hope you get seen quickly!

I had something similar and it turned out to be nothing. I had no lumps that the GP could feel, just a localised ache and a soreness when it was touched. Turned out to be just some internal inflammation, cause unknown. Try not to worry and keep an eye out for any other changes, but the chances are that all will be well.

I know it's hard not to worry - my my mum had breast cancer in her early 40s so I was worried too - but hopefully the clinic will put your mind at rest. Go back to the GP or try and see a different doctor if you're still concerned - it's rotten to be sore for three months even without the worry.

Any C worries and you'd be on a two week appointment. Try not to fret.

Is it constant or could it be menstrual related? I've been getting the same feeling just before my period for the last year or so and have put it down to Peri-menopause

Ohyesiam · 09/08/2017 15:21

Of your gp was worked, she would have got you an urgent appt.Flowers

Worried!

I had similar a couple of months ago. Constant dull ache in right breast, GP referred me to the breast clinic, I was seen within two weeks (examination & mammogram done) and told it was just hormonal.

Burkey721 · 09/08/2017 18:20

Don't think it's menstrual as it's only started in the last 3-4 months. Thanks for all the replies.x
