Its fucked. No bag of rice is gonna save it

Take it apart as much as you can, take sim and memory card out, do not try and turn it on and do not plug a charger into it, take it to your local phone repair shop (get recommendations as they are not regulated unless you have a branded approved service/warranty centre)
If you can't get it to a shop get the hairdryer on it for at least half an hour then put it somewhere really warm for at least 2 days.
Don't bother with the rice as it doesn't work.

If you can find I screwdriver small enough you can take out the 8 screws and using something plastic prize the gray backing off as that is only clipped together so you can set the inside.

Rice has always worked for me and mine ended up in a river. You need to leave it at least three days though. Don't touch it in between! Pull it all apart and leave it. Good luck.

Rice should do the trick, you just need to leave it for long enough. The important thing is not turning it on before it's dry as this could causes it to short out.

Cheers!

Honestly rice does not work, I have worked in the mobile phone industry for over a decade and some people are lucky that the liquid has not penetrated under the chips on the board so are able to dry out, the rice plays no factor in this, rice will only absorb water if it's boiled.

Thank you everyone I have taken it apart dried it off and put it all in the sun on my windowsill to dry off going to leave it overnight...I can see that water is under the screen as there is kind of condensation bubbles around the edges. Lots of conflicting advice so tom I think I will take it to the shop that when I bought myself out of orange contract to do BT pay monthly they reset my sim as I changed telephone number to see what they say...
