Posting here for traffic.
Has anyone here tried to do an online course to learn coding and similar?
I want to to work around my current job but feel like maybe future employer should wouldn't think so highly of an online course. Or would that not be relevant? I'm hoping it would come down to skill not how you got the qualification.

As someone who used to do recruitment, but now work in an office environment (in the a similar field to you're looking at) an online course is thought of in the same way as a regular course.
In some ways more favourably as you've done it in your own time as well as holding down other work (possibly) and with family responsibilities.

It's all down to skill at the end of the day. Interviews in this area generally involve some kind of skills test, so if you pass that your on par with everyone else.

Thanks Sendcoffee. I'm very nervous about a change but I want to improve my skills set and do something long term. Or at least make myself more useful to my boss. I really enjoy coding and anything IT in general hence why going for this route. I've been told I can teach myself but I would like some structure so I can set myself time limits/get it all done.
