To just want to see a doctor

DP was diagnosed with scarlet fever - his doc said to tell me to go to my GP and ask for a course of antibiotics asap as a precaution too in case I caught it. Rang my GP - explained situation to reception who said GP's are seeing Urgent cases only and to go to the local ( 5 miles away )walk in centre or ring 101. Rang 101 who told me my GP MUST see me as they have a duty if care and would put this on my notes. Rang GP surgery back and was told a prescription for course of antibiotics would be waiting for me within 20 minutes! Rant over.

At least the antibiotics are now sorted for you, as 101 obviously acted swiftly on your behalf. Perhaps your GP doesn't feel the need to see you and is just following the current medical advice when someone is in close contact with someone with scarlet fever.

I too have found 101 helpful when the drugs I was taking had some awful side effects, although I had told my GP I was having trouble with them. I got them changed the following day thanks to their advice.

Sounds like they're stowed off and genuinely are just seeing emergencies.

You got your meds - you're not an emergency. Go the NHS!
