Housemate constantly leaves ironing board down in our very small lounge. I only tidied yesterday and it's so frustrating feeling like I need to pick up after her! Should I just keep putting it away myself?

No! Have you spoken to them about putting it away?

KimmySchmidt1 · 07/08/2017 12:08

housemates are very difficult.

she is being selfish.

I find people learn best about how annoying selfishness is when you present them with something that annoys them, then they can see the transactional value of you both agreeing not to keep doing it.

So rather than play the martyr/mummy/mug and keep tidying it up, find something equally annoying and do that. When she asks you to stop, offer her the deal.

Orangebird69 · 07/08/2017 12:08

No, tell her to put it away. It's inconsiderate to leave stuff all over the place in communal areas.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 07/08/2017 12:08

I'd hide it and deny all knowledge.

Put it in housemates bedroom saying "oh I didn't think you had finished with it because you hadn't put it away" everytime!

DonaldStott · 07/08/2017 12:10

Just tell them it pisses you off and would they mind not doing it. Problem solved.

Yep ^ transfer that annoyance to her. Some people are used to having a permanent ironing board up. Some people aren't. You're obviously one of each.
