Would This Annoy You

So last night I was doing DDs lunch and DP was packing DD's bag ready to take her to nursery today. I asked DP if he'd used the spare clothes out of the bag earlier in the day at all? No he's said.

Five minutes later he said 'yes I forgot, I did use the spare clothes'.
I said something along the lines of 'you're like a bloody goldfish' lighthearted-my and went to grab DD's dirty clothes which DP had put on the arm of the sofa.

As I went to grab the clothes I accidently knocked them on the floor. DP sees this and goes 'why are you throwing things on the floor for? in an angry tone, knowing full well that I didn't throw them at all.

That caused an argument as I find it so manipulative and it really gets my back up. He does it often when he's in a bad mood. He even admitted that he lied and knew exactly that I didn't throw anything after in bed and apologised. But he doesn't see the big deal. But it really makes me angry.

Would it annoy you?

He's like a lot of people. He doesn't like being called out on things.

Sounds like you are both a bit tired and stressed? It would annoy me too in the moment but I would probably have forgotten about it by bedtime. At least he apologised.

I agree with daim. It sounds like a petty squabble where you both were getting at each other. I wouldn't have been thrilled at being likened to a goldfish, even if it was in a light hearted way.
