Am having a bad week and yes I know compared to some I'm being utterly ridiculous with my petty problems but I need to vent before my head fucking explodes!

Had the work week from hell, bitchiness stupid pointless completely irrelevant arguments I'm expected to fucking referee, simple delegated tasks turned into major diplomatic incidents, as if I need the U.N. to negotiate someone making a cup of tea for patient (or worse, I'll do it but then can I.. .) Or blatant refusal. Nice, I'm just in charge and I'm really busy, could you not just help me please as unfortunately haven't mastered the art of dividing myself in two.

I've got a job interview this week (which I should really be prepping for instead of skulking and whining on MN) and go on holiday at the end of the week (UK) so the car has decided despite having had a full check up last month at garage, plus usual service mot etc etc that now would be the PERFECT time to completely break down.

The neatly organised washing I've sorted for holiday has been transformed into a fucking jumble sale whilst I worked all weekend so now I have to start again. The children have also decided in my absence they can't possibly go away without taking every item they've ever fucking owned and have replaced essential stuff like underwear with child essential stuff like wubble bubbles

Weird overly friendly neighbour (and not in nice way) keeps popping over to see if we need any help to get ready for holiday, well yes actually, there's nothing I would like better than for your over familiar and inappropriate arse to come and nosey around my home, help me pack my underwear and change the bedding. Actually whilst you're at it,could you also fix the car,go to the most important interview of my life so far and go to work for me? Thanks. Oh and DO keep sharing all of those wonderful opinions of yours. They're not bigoted stupid racist or sexist AT ALL.

Don't care if that makes me come across as a massive twat or that IABU, it all had to come out before something exploded.

YANBU. All of that happening at once would drive me round the bend.

Best of luck for the interview, and I hope the car is fixed in time for your well deserved holiday.

Lexieblue · 07/08/2017 08:09

Thank you GiveMe I may not get the job it's a bit of a step up, but would be a lot better hours and sanity wise! It's a bit awkward with the car as I need to go to work/do interview for 3 out of next 4 days just hope i can get it fixed today otherwise I'll be using all of the holiday money on taxis and car rental Confused

Love a good rant and a rave, nice one OP Grin

I'm like this...I like to write down all the shitty crappy shite that's happened to me on a bad week because if I don't, I'll explode in RL in a shower of expletives.

I'm sorry you've had such a shitty time though OP. Good luck in your interview, bet you will be absolutely fine, and then try and enjoy your holiday as much as possible :)

Fuck everything else!

Pigface1 · 07/08/2017 08:29

Maybe I'm a horrible person but I think 'help getting ready for holiday' is a really creepy offer of help!! Is he always creepy?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 07/08/2017 08:31

I'm sorry about your car. Cars are so expensive.

I wouldn't redo the clothes. Either the children are young, in which case it's the other guardian-in-charge who can sort that out - or they're old enough to know better and sort them out themselves. I'm assuming they're young with the bubbles thing but you never know...

Tell your neighbour to leave you in peace as you're busy - and no you don't want their help. Shut the door. Rinse and repeat.

Good luck with your interview. Set yourself some time to take yourself off somewhere to focus on that for an hour or so to prepare you.

Lexieblue · 07/08/2017 08:38

Thanks StewPots I do feel better for getting it all out! All I need now is my in laws to set up camp in my home expecting to be fed and waited on hand and foot whilst staring at their phones to visit and my life will be complete Grin

Yes Pigface, in fact this may be one of his tamer moments! Normally laugh it off, but his offer of "help" at this moment in time is a little bit like a building collapsing and someone asking if you want help with the hoovering!

OP posts:
Lexieblue · 07/08/2017 08:44

Thanks Lying :) I will get my shit together by 9am, I'm pouring coffee down my neck and my sorting out my plan of attack.
They are young but not so young that they wouldn't appreciate clean underwear is probably more essential than Lego Hmm which actually I wouldn't mind too much except it's been emptied loose into the bags and has interdispersed with the clothing.

youarenotkiddingme · 07/08/2017 08:44

Sounds like you have all those things that piss people off happening at once.

Whinging does not make you a twat.

But why are you holding your tongue? I think a good start will be telling your kids to leave the holiday stuff ALONE.

tell neighbour you are busy and come back after holiday.

alwaysthepessimist · 07/08/2017 08:49

SCREW IT!!! SCREW THE LOT OF THEM!!

Just focus on the holiday, everything else will sort itself out.

YANBU in any way. You vent, venting is GOOD

Venting with alcohol is even better!!

Make a list - it will look like a lot but as you cross them off you will start to feel the relaxation coming on. As for the neighbour....give them a job - gardening? Cleaning windows, cleaning the car, shopping list?

As for the car - do you have breakdown cover? If you do can they give you a car for the holiday whilst yours is being fixed? The garage will probably sort it though - try not to stress that one too too much yet - put that at the back of your head for the moment, it can shuffle forwards later. Kids clothes, screw it, just chuck em in and anything else you can cram in

Good luck with the interview

Ginslinger · 07/08/2017 08:51

awesome rant Flowers I really hope things get better pronto and get off here and prep for your interview - if you have the same power in your interview as you do in this rant then you'll ace it

StewPots · 07/08/2017 08:52

OP I hear you on that one! Grin

CoraPirbright · 07/08/2017 09:01

Oh dear - I think all that would try the patience of a saint! Very best of luck with the interview - I thnk you should focus on that. Knowing that you will be leaving the current job with your nightmare colleagues will make it all seem SO much better. Even if you dont get the job, it wll be valuable experience and give you a boost for the next one. As for the rest, do you really need to be on good terms with the creepy neighbour? If not, channel your anger and tell him to F off! Then as far as the holiday goes, as long as you have clean pants and toothbrushes, the rest is mere detail. The car, ummmmmm......

Lexieblue · 07/08/2017 09:01

Pmsl @alwaysthepessimist Grin we do have breakdown cover I'm on it!

Thanks Ginslinger I think I might need to censor the profanity for it though!

Right I'm off to sort out this shit heap, Thanks for all your replies made me feel better! Will update later as to whether we are hitch hiking to holiday dressed in Lego ;)

Put the holiday stuff in the cases today and lock them - take the keys with you to work. It's the only way IME to stop kids messing with what you have packed.
Good luck with the interview.

Lexieblue · 07/08/2017 10:59

Is it too early to break open the wine????

Breakdown were meant to be here half an hour ago, Just phoned to say it will now be 3pm. In the course of organising this, I have discovered the man child has neglected to sort out his insurance renewal, which is due the day we are returning. So I now have to sort that out because he is clearly fucking incapable (I could scream, it's the one bill he has to sort out!!)

I'm going to have to use public transport to attend an interview in the arsehole of nowhere, so instead of leaving at 9am I can look forward to a 7am commute, I've also just realised I have shopping to do before we go. Because of course this couldnt have been done at weekend.

The neighbour has started a very noisy programme of home improvements, so we are currently ramming clothing Lego and other useless bollocks into cases to the beat of hammering and dogs barking. I just hope he doesn't come around to give us a running commentary like he normally does. Of course he will have to come out when the breakdown people decide to rock up to help diagnose the problem Hmm

And to add insult to injury, I have one stray hair on my top lip that is irritating the fuck out of me, is too short to tweezers and no I can't go and get some nair or similar because the car has decided to go on strike.

Beautoful. Just fucking beautiful.Wine

Congratulations!

I was just reading the thread and going to comment not to worry as I had a similar situation in that I had a 12 hour period where I had my driving test, a job interview and we were going on holiday and I got the job and passed my test because I was so distracted by what I needed to pack for the holiday I lost all my nerves and relaxed!

Have a fab (if lego filled) holiday.

PrimalLass · 10/08/2017 07:09

Brilliant Grin Huge congrats.
