To be irritated that it's just not fair!

I have just spent 3 hours trailing around the shops looking for something to wear to a wedding. Found nothing I both liked and was suitable. DH, of course, gets to wear his kilt. Again. Like the last 20 weddings. It's not fair.

Wedding is next Friday. I'll be in PJs at this rate.

Why cant you wear something you liked from the previous 20 weddings?

stargirl1701 · 05/08/2017 15:30

All stuff from pre baby that no longer fits.

Annoys me too! And if not his kilt then it's a new shirt and tie for his suit which is always easy to do.

Do you have a previous outfit that you felt good in that could be used again? Perhaps with different accessories?

I second the above, wear something from before (though I'd probably try to find something from an event where none or not many of next week's guests attended)

Invisimamma · 05/08/2017 15:31

I know what you mean!

I got a lovely dress from Elsie's Attic online recently for a wedding , true to size and very flattering cut.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 05/08/2017 15:32

X-post oops... can you buy something you already like in a bigger size? Ebay or the like?

stargirl1701 · 05/08/2017 15:33

Doubt I have time with eBay, tbh. We sail to the destination (wee Scottish island) on Thursday.

Can you take a friend out shopping with you? I always find it easier to find something if I've got someone else to help spot things and give me a second opinion on stuff.

Oliver bonas online? Very generous sizing always good when feeling a bit bigger.
