To hope my neighbours get a power cut

EVERY SINGLE FUCKING WEEKEND they are blaring music from their front garden for hours on end at a volume no one ever needs to play music at.

I understand it's not late and I understand it's nice weather but seriously do they think the whole street wants to do nothing but listen to their loud music, bad singing and beer bottle smashing every weekend?

It's 78 decibels in my living room right now and that's with my windows and doors closed and they live 4 houses away, I can't imagine how loud it is for them, why do they need it so loud?

Clearly because they don't work no one else does, it's not like they've seen me going to my night shift before now or coming home from a 14 hour shift. I cannot wait to move house!

I think karma should unleash a heavy rain shower on the clearly professional sound equipment in their front garden right now!

Serious question - why can't you just ask them nicely to turn it down a bit?

RedStripeSorry · 30/07/2017 19:51

Music on a sunny evening outside is bliss. I like hearing other people's too. It just sounds like summer. We always play music early evening on about one weekend day but not blaring. After 10pm I'd take it inside or turn it right down though. If someone complained I'd be mortified and turn it right down but that hasn't happened.

CatchingBabies · 30/07/2017 19:53

I ask them nicely to turn it down every weekend throughout the summer. They turn it down temporarily and then once an a song they like comes on it get turned up again. Meanwhile I see all the "miserable cow" Facebook posts complaining that I dare to have a job and not want to deafen myself with their music. It's a row of 10 terraced houses, 5 in a row, small walkway and then the other 5 facing. The houses have thin walls and of the 10 families who live here only 2 of them work and 6 of them are currently out drinking and singing with loud neighbours. I'm very outnumbered.

Red I don't mind music, sometimes it's nice. I do mind 8 hours of music a day every weekend throughout summer so loud that I can't hear my tv even though it's on full volume. It will be on till around 1-2 am like it always is and it will end either with a huge argument and the further smashing of bottles or the police being called by the elderly lady at the end as always.

Ok that sounds like hard work Sad

I had an annoyingly loud neighbour who had a noisy lads nights every time their football team played. We lived in the same house - his door was round the back but his electricity meter was inside the main front door which he didn't have a key for.

Guess who had a power cut 3 minutes into his teams cup final match? And guess who hid in her flat, ignored the door, and laughed her head off like a maniac while listening to all his mates kicking off and then leaving.....

Fifthtimelucky · 30/07/2017 20:38

I certainly don't find listening to other people's music bliss! We don't all have the same taste in music. People shouldn't assume that everyone else likes what they do. I wouldn't dream of inflicting my choice of music on my neighbours.

Fair enough it's it is a one-off, but completely unreasonable if it's a regular occurrence.

Admiralclingus · 30/07/2017 21:05

Op do you live on my street?

Currently the neighbours at the back have their shortly music blaring so loud I can't hear my tv aswell. It's been on since 8am this morning.

The rain has just started lashing down again AND THEY'RE STILL OUT THERE!!!!

CatchingBabies · 30/07/2017 21:40

Maybe I do Admiral as it's the same here, pouring with rain and they are still dancing in the garden. Although the stereo system has now been moved indoors which thankfully has quietened the music a little.
