DH has just phoned. MIL has had DS all morning. Apparently he was toddling in her garden (he's 17 months) fell over and banged his head on the patio. He's fine, he just had a large bump on his head.
MIL is mortified - she got DH to ring me up so she could apologise.
I told her not to worry - it's the first time he bumped his head, it won't be the last.

Ain't she sweet?

very level headed of you iklboo

It's not her fault - he's a little tyke. Just started climbing on things & exploring. She can't have eyes in the back of her head all the time. Apparently she just turned around for a second to take down some washing

they're demons for harming themselves aren't they? Both sets of gps always feel guilty when ds hurts himself, but its not their fault. Toddlers attract accidents

What a nice MIL you have!

I've met some Mother's who think it's the end of the world when their child has a graze/bruise etc!

My mum is always paranoid because she reads stories about the terrible accidents happening when the grandparents are in charge Its really nice that she was worried enough to call and apologise!!!

helenhismadwife · 27/03/2007 14:59

awww bless her, guess she feels bad and responsible because she was looking after him.
I know my mil is the same she rang dh and I when we were on honeymoon to tell us dd had fallen when crawling and had a nose bleed.
Hope your little one is ok

I have a lovely MIL! She'd offered to take Ds away for late May bank holiday and she said "are you sure you trust me with him now?". OH BLESS!! Course I do. He loves being at hers
