Dd 10 had a last minute invite to her 'bf' sis birthday party today, 4-7 requiring a lift both ways. All fine really excited, hair had been plaited last night so party hair was already good to go. .
Dh picks her up, very quiet in the car but he doesn't push for responses (prob worried about hormonal kick off or similar tbh!)
Gets home and dd says she feels sick, enquire about party food (dd vegi but careful and capable of filtering her way through party food!)
Comes out that she fell at the party and banged she head and is now throwing up in the bathroom..
No phone call or even a quick heads up on collection!
Aibu to be mad we may need to go to A&E if she feels worse while they are partying away with no regard for a party guest?!
They have our phone numbers and nobody let us know. . . .
She assured me they knew as 'bf' told them after it happened.

As she is vomiting I think you should go to A&E now - she may have concussion.

Bonez · 29/07/2017 19:38

A&E ASAP!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/07/2017 19:40

I'd take her to A&E to be on the safe side.
I wouldn't blame anyone though. Kids do get boisterous especially at Parties.

CockacidalManiac · 29/07/2017 19:41

Yep, definitely need to go to A&E with vomiting after a head injury. Urgently.

Frankswife87 · 29/07/2017 19:41

Yabu go to a&e instead of posting here!

HCPinhiding · 29/07/2017 19:45

Oh poor dd. No YANBU. Try calling 111 they can often get you seen somewhere quicker than going straight to A&E.

Frankswife87 · 29/07/2017 19:45

Yanbu #

MrsGB2225 · 29/07/2017 19:56

I hope she is ok

SpartacusSaiman · 29/07/2017 19:59

Get her to a&e.

Then enquire about what happened when she is sorted.

Only when she is ok and you know that the parents knew she had banged her head really badly, should you get pissed off.

Its possible the parents didnt know or thought she had just knocked it.

Cant believe she is throwing up and you are posting here about being pissed off when you dont know what went on.

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 29/07/2017 20:00

She assured me they knew as 'bf' told them after it happened

Don't blame another 10yo child because yours didn't speak out to the adults present.

And quit posting on here and get your child to A*+E

lmer · 29/07/2017 20:14

First of all her her to A&E, secondly, they may not of been aware exactly what had happened, bf may of just told them she'd had a bump or something that sounds minor?

RedSkyAtNight · 29/07/2017 20:15

Children fall over all the time. If it wasn't made obvious to the party hosts that she'd specifically hit her head and evidently quite hard, they may well not have known.

MrTrebus · 29/07/2017 20:19

WTF? why are you posting here when you should be at a&e with your daughter for concussion.

Joinourclub · 29/07/2017 20:20

Well the hosts knew she fell over and didn't tell you ........

You know she fell over and is now vomiting and yet you're on mumsnet.........

Yabu

Doublefecker · 29/07/2017 20:22

Yes yabu to be pissed off when what you should be is concerned and on your way to A&E. Hope she's ok.

Needsomeflapjacks · 29/07/2017 20:22

Had rang 111 before posting. . At hospital now. .

OP posts:
SpartacusSaiman · 29/07/2017 20:45

So you rang 111, they advised hospital and you posted here first?

PurpleMinionMummy · 29/07/2017 20:47

Oh no, I hope she's ok.

I think it would be all too easy for the adults to assume she was fine if no fuss was made and there were no obvious marks or lumps. If they were busy and your dd seemed fine they may have just forgotten to mention it. I would ask them once your dd is sorted and go from there.

Needsomeflapjacks · 29/07/2017 23:17

Had other dc to sort. .
111 sent us to local hospital with a closed A&E. Still sat in the open one not seen the trauma Dr yet just triage nurse. .

Jessiecat27 · 30/07/2017 00:56

I think it's awful, if it was me and a dc had banged their head, regardless of how minor I would have told parents on collection or rang them if it was a bad one. I know they probably had a lot on their minds but they still should have told you! I'd say something next time you see them like 'I had to take dd to a&e, did you see her bang her head at all? She told me it happened at yours'
