AIBU To stab DH in the eye with a rusty knitting needle?

We're in the process of moving house but due to timings we're spending at least a month in temporary accommodation. Our house was packed up today and our things are in storage.

I sent DH to oversee the packing and to bring back the laundry basket which has 3 days worth of family washing (can you see where I'm going with this?)

Yip, he forgot to oversee the packing, when I phoned him he had nipped out for a coffee, for 5 minutes apparently. And lo and behold I've now found out the dirty laundry has been packed up (including my DD slightly soiled pants from nursery yesterday).

It's going to be grim when it comes back isn't it?

I'm never going to be able to look the removal men in the eye (small local company) when they deliver the stuff am I?

DH is completely unconcerned. Angry

Oh, ffs! The clothes will walk out of the storage depot by themselves!

LouHotel · 29/07/2017 19:17

Well if he's unconcerned he'll be the one washing the clothing. Simples.

YANBU

You didn't pack the house yourselves?
I'd hate strangers rummaging through my stuff!
misses point of thread

I once found a plastic bag of vomity clothes in the boot that had been there for weeks. It had gone beyond revolting and looked mummified. Straight in the bin.

Ripperofknitting · 29/07/2017 19:23

I wish I had now.

From other mumsnet threads, getting the removal company was highly recommended.

DH didn't even tip them - I'm seething.

Ring them. They might gladly let you retrieve the offending items Grin better now than in a few weeks time!

One of the families I chat with had an international move and the movers came in packed everything for them to forward to new country. They even packed a big bag full of rubbish without realizing. When it finally arrived about 2 months later it was pretty grim.

Don't worry for now.
I washed a disposable shitty nappy once. By mistake of course.
