This was weird, right?

I'm at a medium sized festival. About 5000 people here.
There are lots of families here but by nighttime it's a clubby atmosphere IYKWIM.
Last night, about 9:30, we were at a stage which had lots of little dance floors around it at different heights.
There was a boy, probably around 8 years old, possibly younger, dancing on one of these dance podiums that was the highest up. No issues, there were lots of other kids dancing on them as well, and it was pretty cute and added to the atmosphere.
Anyway we're dancing below them and gradually this boy starts peeling his clothes off.
After about ten minutes, he'd gradually taken every item of clothing off apart from his pants and was just dancing on this high bit like a mad thing. It's been pissing it down with rain and was pretty bloody cold.
Then he starts bending over and smacking his bum?!
He then starts trying to take his pants off, which was clearly finally a step too far for the parents who were trying to get him to put them back on. They then bought him down.
The boy was probably up there for about an hour, most people had congregated at this particular stage so it was heaving. Everyone was kind of Hmm but some were taking photos and laughing Confused

Was I BU to find this kind of weird? Hope I've explained it right, it really was quite odd.

Erm, yes. Very weird.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 29/07/2017 17:04

Are you at Bestival?

Not unreasonable at all, I'd have been giving his parents the Hmm face too.

WashingMatilda · 29/07/2017 17:07

Oh thank god. No, not Bestival, but something similar.

I wish I'd said something, but some people seemed to find it so hilarious and 'random' that I wondered if I was being a party pooper.

Oh, and also it's apparently hilarious because 'his parents should film it and show it at his wedding' Confused
