Would they take us all?? Can't do online as obviously won't come till tomorrow and I need it today

Would you have car seats for all four of them?

Dancingfairy · 29/07/2017 12:51

No

Do you have any local shops you can do a quick shop in just to cover today. Then do a bigger shop tomorrow?

Oysterbabe · 29/07/2017 12:53

I wouldn't without car seats. Can you ask someone to help?

tackytriceratops · 29/07/2017 12:54

Any way you can do click and collect and send the cab to pick it up? (Not used much so not sure if it works that quickly)

cookielove · 29/07/2017 12:54

Amazon do a service where they will bring you things that day, but I am pretty sure you don't need car seats for taxis. Of course it would be safer if you had them but needs must!

You can get larger taxi''s that will take that amount of people and also some taxi firms provide car seats!

Oysterbabe · 29/07/2017 12:54

Also if I found out my sister took my kids in a car without car seats I'd go nuts.

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 29/07/2017 12:54

Are you near an Iceland? If you spend more than £20 instore, they'll bring it home for you. You probably won't be able to get everything you'd normally buy but you might be able to get enough stuff to tide you over for a few days.

19lottie82 · 29/07/2017 12:55

Get a black cab.

Why is it ok to get the bus without car seats but not a car? (Genuine question, I don't have any DC!)

LivingInMidnight · 29/07/2017 12:56

Sign up for the Amazon prime trial (and remember to cancel the trial before it charges you!) and use prime now to get some shopping delivered today? The range can be a bit limited though.

firawla · 29/07/2017 12:58

I wouldn't. Have a look what's the nearest home delivery slot you can get. Sometimes you can find one for same day but late evening? But you'll definitely get one for early morning tomorrow no problem. Is there no one who could bring you a few bits to tide you over til tomorrow morning?

tissuesosoft · 29/07/2017 12:59

I wouldn't risk it without car seats to be honest

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 29/07/2017 13:08

I don't believe you have to ask strangers on the internet.

Dancingfairy · 29/07/2017 13:21

StillDrivingMeBonkers
Could say that about half the posts on here.

Anyway thanks to the sensible comments.

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 29/07/2017 13:22

Only half? You're far more generous than I

lmer · 29/07/2017 14:02

Legally you don't need a car seat in a taxi- but it's one of those "just because you can doesn't mean you should" situation and if I was your sister I'd be furious if I found out.

Violetcharlotte · 29/07/2017 14:14

Get a cab if there's stuff you really need. No one used car seats when we were young and we're still here. Sure you'll be fine.

JennyBlueWren · 29/07/2017 14:45

Do you have to change buses or is it a long walk either side? Otherwise I'd say just do it. Do they not use buses? It could be a nice treat.

Dairymilkmuncher · 29/07/2017 14:45

Yes of course get a taxi. If you say when you book you don't have an infant car seat but you do have a buggy they will send a big one.

Soubriquet · 29/07/2017 14:47

I would and do

I take my 4 and 2 year old in a cab without a car seat all the time

The 4 year old gets seatbelted in the back, the two year old stays in his buggy. I make sure they send a big one to fit it in

Crunchymum · 29/07/2017 14:52

What time will someone be back? Can you wait until then to go to shops? Any shops you can walk to?

Legally a black cab can take you 'short distance' without a carseat but it's discretionary.

Which child/ren should be in a carseat?

Crunchymum · 29/07/2017 14:53

ETA I've done the same as Soubriquet on many occasions and my kids are same ages. Oh and my Dad is a black cab driver.

NapQueen · 29/07/2017 14:57

The 14 week old shouldnt be in a car without a carseat regardless of what the law on taxis is. Thats crazy.

I would take a 5,7 and 8yo in a taxi with just the seatbelts, but I wouldnt do it without their parents permission.

Walk to the nearest corner shop and jist get essentials?

Ask a friend to grab a few things and drop them in and pay her some "cab fare" on top of the bill?

Crunchymum · 29/07/2017 14:58

The 14 week old would be in pram?
