Silly thread really, but I'm waiting in for the postman as I rearranged two parcels to be delivered today. No sign of him yet. Usually comes anytime between 9 and 1...

Getting a bit frustrated because I'd planned to go to the naice tea rooms in town for my birthday treat breakfast.

So to pass the time, AIBU to start a thread about postmen and their delivery times?

Normally before 2pm

Juanbablo · 29/07/2017 11:24

Just come through the door now. It usually comes around 10am on weekdays.

NoraCharlesMartiniGlass · 29/07/2017 11:30

After 4pm. It was just before 6 one day last week but I think the poor postie must have had a problem with their van (very rural).

ginghambox · 29/07/2017 11:38

If it's the regular woman postie between 8-45 and 9-00 am guaranteed.
When she is off anytime up until 4-00 pm.

KurriKurri · 29/07/2017 12:01

Usually about 11 am, but it can be later depending on weather etc. Our postie walks with a sort of wagon he pulls - so sometimes takes him longer if it's v.hot, or wet.

Bluepansies · 29/07/2017 12:09

Between 11-12 normally

AllToadsLeadToHome · 29/07/2017 12:19

Usually 11 - 1 for letters and some packages but sometimes the letters arrive first and then there will be a van soon after with parcels.

It varies depending on whether there are holidays as at those times we get a varied selection of postpeople rather than the usual 2 or 3 regulars.

FadedRed · 29/07/2017 12:22

Mid afternoon usually. Always surprised if before two pm.

silkpyjamasallday · 29/07/2017 12:29

Ours seems totally random, never the same time so if I'm expecting something I have to resign myself to staying in all day. I've had 3 parcels from the same person go missing over the last few months, despite being send with tracking, I don't have much love for our post office.

fuckingroundabout · 29/07/2017 12:33

normally bang on 10.30

Littlemissindependent · 29/07/2017 12:34

Still waiting for todays. Bring back the days when the post had already been delivered by the time you got up!

lmer · 29/07/2017 12:41

Normally between 1-2:30 but on Wednesdays it comes at 9am

melj1213 · 29/07/2017 12:47

Mine usually shows up any time between 2-4pm ... which I don't mind unless there's something I'm waiting for, it's the day I have a late shift at work, have to pick DD up from school and take her to my parents (they happily have her overnight every few weeks when I have a late shift on the weeks DD isn't at her dad's) then get to work in time for a 5pm start ... so I don't get my post until midnight at best.

And that's provided it's small enough to go through the letterbox because if it isn't then no matter how many times I say for them to take it back to the sorting office which is literally 3 minutes walk away I will have to contend with seeing the nosy old lady across the street who takes in everyone's parcels and then spends ages lecturing you as to how inconvenient it is and martyring herself for something I have asked her not to do anyway when you go to collect it!

AllTheWittyNamesAreGone · 29/07/2017 12:49

We moved six weeks ago and Our new house is random. Some times 10am sometimes at 3pm.

We only moved 200 yards have the same postie but in the old place it came at 8:45-9am

IrritatedUser1960 · 29/07/2017 12:51

1pm on the dot.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 29/07/2017 12:52

Anywhere between 9 am and 3pm ish. If they are big parcels you are waiting for they will send them in a van not with your normal postie.

TeenAndTween · 29/07/2017 12:59

Our area operates a 2 person round system. One person does the letters, one the parcels. Whoever finishes first helps the other out finishing their bit. Seems to be really efficient.

SpottedGingham · 29/07/2017 13:00

By 3pm weekdays and before 10am on Saturday. If something needs signing for, I can guarantee it's when I'm eating lunch, have just taken a bite of something yummy and have to swallow it too quickly. I swear she waits up the road!

CadnoDrwg · 29/07/2017 13:25

Around 1.30pm but we realised a while ago despite living in the city we don't get a daily service. At most it's 3 days a week!

redfragglebiker · 29/07/2017 16:43

Ours seems to be completely random but I've had it as late as 3.30pm at the weekend. Weekdays tend to be before 11am for some reason.,
